Here is a short introduction to jeans science: The fabric weight or basis weight of a pair of jeans is usually given in ounces. The higher this basis weight, the thicker and heavier the jeans are. An average pair of jeans in size W33/L34 with 12oz can weigh around 700g, but also over a kilo, depending on how much metal is added in the form of buttons etc.
Since heavier fabric weight results in thicker jeans, we recommend lighter 12 oz jeans for summer and 14 oz jeans for winter.
