Corduroy has velvet-like longitudinal ribs and was originally produced primarily in Manchester/England. It is very durable and was formerly worn mainly by factory workers. Today it is used in countless variations. From baby clothes to casual wear such as jackets and trousers, to accessories and home textiles such as bags, backpacks, or decorative cushions.
This corduroy fabric has 6 wales, which means its ribs are quite wide. Baby corduroy, for example, has around 21 wales. The lower the number, the wider the ribs.

In addition, this corduroy fabric has an elastane content of 5%, which makes it pleasantly stretchy. This makes the fabric even more comfortable and can also be sewn for projects that require elasticity.
