Our high-quality wool fleece made of pure new wool convinces with its natural properties and outstanding quality. With a weight of 280g/m² and a width of approx. 143 cm, this wool fleece is the ideal choice for cozy, warming clothing and accessories. The soft, supple texture ensures a particularly comfortable feel and reliably protects against the cold. Thanks to the breathable properties of new wool, the temperature always remains balanced, while the natural fiber optimally regulates moisture.
Difference to Boiled Wool
In contrast to boiled wool, which gets a dense, firm structure through felting, wool fleece remains soft, elastic and light. While boiled wool is particularly durable and wind-resistant, wool fleece is characterized by its cozy surface and greater freedom of movement. This makes it ideal for comfortable sweaters, jackets, baby clothes or blankets that should offer a lot of comfort and warmth.

What does mulesing-free mean?
Mulesing refers to a practice in sheep farming where the sensitive skin in the tail area is removed. This procedure is performed to prevent infestation with blowfly larvae, which occur particularly in Australia and New Zealand. Such infections can be fatal for sheep. Essentially, removing excess skin is a sensible thing to do.
The problem, however, is that mulesing is usually performed without anesthesia or painkillers. This fact makes the procedure an equally painful alternative to fly infestation.
Although the issue is hotly debated and more and more breeders in Australia and New Zealand are making efforts, the procedure is still regularly applied and it is not clearly communicated which farms actually work without mulesing.
Since the problematic flies do not occur in England at all, yarns from this region are 100% mulesing-free. This also applies to the fibers of our high-quality boiled wool.
