Knitted wool fabric made from 100% merino wool
Our high-quality wool fleece made from pure merino wool impresses with its natural properties and outstanding quality. With a weight of 280g/m² and a width of approx. 140 cm, this wool fleece is the ideal choice for cozy, warming clothing and accessories. The soft, supple texture ensures a particularly comfortable feel and at the same time reliably protects against cold. Thanks to the breathable properties of virgin wool, the temperature always remains balanced, while the natural fiber optimally regulates moisture.
Difference to boiled wool
In contrast to boiled wool, which obtains a dense, firm structure through felting, wool fleece remains soft, elastic and light. While boiled wool is particularly hard-wearing and wind-resistant, wool fleece is characterized by its cozy surface and greater freedom of movement. It is therefore ideal for cozy sweaters, jackets, baby clothing or blankets that should offer a lot of comfort and warmth.
What makes merino wool so special?
It comes from the merino sheep – one of the finest and highest quality wool breeds in the world.
1. Soft & skin-friendly
Merino wool has very fine fibers (much finer than conventional wool), which is why it doesn't scratch – and is also comfortable to wear directly on the skin. Ideal for sensitive skin or baby clothing.
2. Temperature-regulating
Merino wool warms in cold weather and cools in warm weather – it reacts to the ambient temperature and your body. This makes it suitable all year round, even for sports and outdoor clothing.
3. Breathable & moisture-regulating
Merino wool can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. It wicks moisture to the outside, ensuring a dry, comfortable feel.
4. Odor-neutralizing
The natural fiber structure prevents the development of odors. Merino wool therefore needs to be washed much less frequently – simply airing it out is often enough.
5. Natural & sustainable
Merino wool is a renewable raw material, biodegradable and – if certified – also produced in an animal-friendly way (e.g. mulesing-free). Ideal for sustainable fashion.
