Corduroy has velvet-like longitudinal ribs and was originally manufactured primarily in Manchester, England. It is very durable and was previously mainly worn by factory workers. Today it is used in countless variations. From baby clothes to casual clothing such as jackets and trousers, to accessories and home textiles such as bags, backpacks or decorative cushions.

This corduroy fabric is 4.5 Wales, which means its ribs are quite wide. For example, a Babycord has around 21 Wales. The lower the number, the wider the ribs.
