Melange Wool Jersey – 100% Merino Wool
Natural, functional, and wonderfully soft: Our melange wool jersey made from pure merino wool combines all the benefits of high-quality natural fibers with the comfort of a stretchy jersey. With its fine, smooth surface and pleasant drape, this fabric is ideal for many cozy projects – especially in the cooler seasons.
The 100% merino wool ensures a wonderfully soft feel – completely non-scratchy. The fabric is lightly elasticated, yet dimensionally stable and breathable. With a weight of 250 g/m² and a width of approx. 140 cm, it can be sewn in many versatile ways.
🧶 Difference from Boiled Wool & Wool Fleece

Wool jersey is knitted, making it elastic and softer in drape – ideal for close-fitting clothing.

Boiled wool is a dense, fulled (felted) wool fabric, not elastic, but wind-resistant – good for jackets and coats.

Wool fleece is fluffier, warmer, and bulkier, but less dimensionally stable – perfect for cozy clothing and baby items.
What makes merino wool so special?
It comes from the Merino sheep – one of the finest and highest quality wool breeds in the world.
1. Soft & skin-friendly
Merino wool has very fine fibers (significantly finer than conventional wool), which is why it doesn't scratch – and is comfortable to wear directly on the skin. This makes it ideal for sensitive skin or baby clothing.
2. Temperature-regulating
Merino wool warms in the cold and cools in the heat – it reacts to the ambient temperature and your body. This makes it suitable all year round, including for sportswear and outdoor clothing.
3. Breathable & moisture-regulating
Merino wool can absorb up to a third of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. It wicks moisture outwards, ensuring a dry, comfortable feel.
4. Odor-neutralizing
The natural fiber structure prevents the formation of odors. Merino wool therefore needs to be washed much less frequently – airing it out is often enough.
5. Natural & sustainable
Merino wool is a renewable raw material, biodegradable and – if certified – also animal-friendly produced (e.g., mulesing-free). Ideal for sustainable fashion.
